Please note that the event is organised and run by volunteers. To maintain safety standards we need lots of marshals, if you can help, or know a person who can, please let us know.

If you have any questions, or would like to help please contact us by email, do not call Summit Cycles, or The Holey Trail.

Cafe Seren is returning to the Howies Dyfi Enduro this year.  We are planning to provide all the riders, their families, friends and of course the locals with good food ,music, entertainment and of course a bar.

Having a couple of keen cyclists in the family, we are well aware of the need to provide good quality, tasty, substantial meals.

We are fully solar powered and as much of our food comes from locally produced, fair trade and organic sources as possible.  The bar is fully stocked with a wide range of organic, fair trade and locally produced beverages.

We will be open from Saturday afternoon until Monday morning.  Along with the cyclists pre booked meals (see booking form), we will be serving light meals and snacks throughout for family and friends etc.

For your entertainment, we will be having live bands and Dj's on Saturday and Sunday night, also in the cinema tent we will be showing the latest mountain bike films and footage, plus some kids films.  We are also hoping to organise some games for the kids (and adults) such as table football and giant jenga.  So bring the family along.

We will be emailing menu and band/film details out closer to the event.

2010 howies Dyfi Enduro

The howies Dyfi Enduro is a non-competitive long distance mountain bike challenge happening on the 2nd of May 2010 in Machynlleth, West Wales.

howies have kindly continued their support of the event, and remain title sponsor, which means you have a very good chance of leaving with a cool new T-shirt. We are also indebted to the events other sponsors, all of whom contribute to the very large pile of prizes. Between them the sponsors, howies, Formula, Wingnut gear, Easton, Topeak, Endura, Bontrager, Continental, Hi5, contribute over 200 individual prizes.

The Cafe Seren, will again be in attendance, serving food and drink over the whole week end. Free camping, along with bands and films makes for a good way to spend the bank holiday weekend.

The overall ride format of the event will remain the same as previous years, with the big group lead out on the back road up to Ceinws, followed by a demanding 45ish km off-road loop in the Dyfi forest, as in previous years, the route will be technically, as well as physically challenging. Due to changing trail conditions, and forestry work the exact route has yet to be confirmed, but rest assured it will be up to the usual high standards. Because the route uses some sections of private land we will not be posting a route map. For more detailed info please see the FAQ PDF file on the left of the page.

The first 250 riders through will take a slightly longer, slightly more arduous route, to even out the finish times a little. We will again be separating times and routes, so you will be able to see which route you did, and how long it took.

In order to ensure the smooth running of the event, we will be limiting entries to 650 riders, entries will be on a first come basis. After the response to previous year’s events, we are expecting a full field, so get those entries in soon. Please note that due to the volume of work involved in organizing the event, we will only be accepting online entries.
